Margaret Clarke, second wife of Thomas Theodorick, was buried near the North door of Edgefield Church on 21 February 1804. She left a considerable amount of property by her will, made on 18 January 1804, between her two daughters, Mrs Margaret Clarke Chaplin and Mrs Catherine Vale. The Vale family quarrlled with the Chaplins and all connection with them was lost. It is not unlikely that the division of this property was the cause of the quarrels.
The property came to her under the will of her father, John Clarke, and her mother, Elizabeth Clarke, survived her.
From Kenneth White, descendant of Mary Hingham, January 2005:
"The Holt Archdeacon’s Transcripts has the following entry: "Baptized June 4 1772 Margaret Clark and Theodosia daughters of Thomas and Margaret Theodorick." It would seem probable from this they are the twins in the family. Catherine and Theodosia are listed as twins in your document. Would you have sources? As I mentioned in a previous E-mail I have never found the birth or baptism of Catherine.
