My brother Philip told me that some time before he died Bruce, who was a County Court judge, was reported as using marijuana (cannabis, hemp) in a story on the front page of the Daily Telegraph, which caused considerable grief to his father. He also said that Bruce was a slogger and got a third at Oxford, whereas James did little work and got a First in Greats.
