Biography

UK Dwin Bramall tells how he went to see Euphemia Isabella Chaplin nee Skinner [my great grandmother - ARJ] with his father, a heavy man who sat on a flimsy chair at the foot of her bed. At some point she suddenly declaimed loudly from Richard III (as she often did) "A horse, a horse, ...." whereupon he fell off the chair onto the floor.

When Dwin at age 15 found his picture had been hung in the Royal Academy exhibition (see Edwin Bramall - Notes) the Daily Mail recorded that Major and Mrs Bramall drove to the gallery on Varnishing Day but on failing to gain entrance (because they had no pictures hung themselves) Major Bramall went back to the car, got out the polishing rags and gave it a rub over (his wife - more single minded - eventually got into the building).
