According to 'The Family of Skinner' website at http://www.videos.supanet.com/englishbranch.html in 2005, John Skinner married 'daughter of Sir William Marmaduke' at the end of the 14th Century, but according to' Burkes Landed Gentry 1849', account of Skinner of Shirley Park, p.1243., Sir John Skynner - the first known of this name apart from Sir Robert Skynnere in the 12th Century - married 'daughter of St Leger' in Kent in 1440. I have not been able to check Marmaduke on the web, and the St Leger website does not include a marriage to a Skinner in 1440.
Of course both statements could be true if there is a generation missing, ie if there were three John Skynners in a row instead of two. Of the three, the most important from a genealogical point of view isthe most recent, John the brother of Robert, Prior of Malvern, since according to the legend he came from Lincoln to Ledbury at his brother's invitation, thereby creating the Ledbury branch as distinct from the Lincoln (Bolingbroke) branch.
