Auntie Maudie is a relation not simply a friend. She was a very jolly person on her own, but mixed up with Polly and Aunt Louie could well have led to bickering ! And again, Aunt Louie on her own was a kindly old soul.
After leaving Orchard Sreet, Maudie lived with two other cousins, Carrie ( who was kind and gentle ) and her sister (Nelly) who was not., Then Maudie came to Sherborne.
