She was always known in the family as Polly, and when I knew her briefly was living at the Lorne with Maurice and Winifred Welcher. She had a small room downstairs and a bedroom upstairs, so passed through the house from one to another, but she and Winifred didn't get on at all. It was rather painful, and the women of the family thought her very disagreeable.
