On the web I came across www.bromfield.us/, the site of the Bromfield family. It includes a section "devoted to the history and memorabilia of the "Bromfield" family which settled in the parish of St. Elizabeth, island of Jamaica in the early 1770's". It also includes the Tharp Papers, of which Part III includes the 'Bacon collection' R.55.7.133 which has the following entry:

55. 12 Dec. 1823. Affidavit of Edward Amos Chaplin concerning £5000 bills drawn from Jamaica. cf. R.55.7.1350.50.
